ОАО "TATNEFT" is currently developing 82 fields in the Republic of Tatarstan and beyond its borders. However the major share of the current oil production is accounted for six large fields: Romashkinskoye, Novo-Elkhovskoye, Bavlinskoye, Sabanchinskoye, Pervomaiskoye, Bondyuzhskoye with 60% of production provided by Romashkinskoye oil field.

Year by year the industrial giant keeps increasing its oil production. The highest level was reached in 2009 during the period of the last 15 years, when oil production increased by 0.3 % compare to 2008 and totaled to 25.85 million tons. The Company's above-the-plan production amounted to 450.44 thousand tons of oil.

Overall 261 new production wells were drilled and constructed for OAO TATNEFT with putting into operation after drilling 234 wells with the production rate of 9.5 tons per day. The average oil production rate of ОАО TATNEFT wells in 2008 amounted to 4.0 tons per day.

Workover operations were perfomed at 1,984 wells. Incremental oil recovery resulting from workovers amounted to 352,3 thousand tons of oil, accounting for 10% increase versus 2008. The average increment of oil production rate after workover in 2009 increased by 20% versus the previous year and amounted to 3.1 tons per day.

9,575 current remedial jobs were performed during the year. A number of well repair jobs was reduced by 6.0% versus 2008. The average daily well shut-down time in expectation of the well remedial operations was reduced by 16.6% with regard to the active well stock.
