Reduction of Hazardous Substances Emissions
Print version
OAO TATNEFT pays particular attention in the area of nature protection to reduction of hazard substances emission into atmosphere, surface and underground hydrosphere, and soils. This is implemented by means of the following actions:
- Introduction of the process for recovery of hydrocarbon vapors (VR), emitting from the vessel type equipment;
- Reduction of the associated gas volumes, burnt at the flares;
- Treatment of the associated petroleum gas at the desulphurization units;
- Repair and replacement of tanks and other vessel type equipment; application of anticorrosion coating on the equipment pieces;
- Replacement of the stock tank process oil and gas pipelines.
- Revamping of the crude treatment units with optimization of the technological process and the streams of supply.
The total amount of pollutants emissions made 79.8 thousand tons in 2007, which 3.2 thousand tons above the level of 2006. There was an increase in emissions of sulfur dioxide and a reduction in nitrogen oxides. The main reason of the increase in sulfur dioxide emissions is connected with shutdown of the Minnibaevo gas processing plant of the Tatneftegazpererabotka Department for scheduled maintenance.
The inventory of greenhouse gases emissions into the atmosphere from mobile and stationary sources was performed acc. to Federal Law No.128-FZ dd. 04.11.2004 «On ratification of Kioto protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change» and Resolution of Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan No. 1105-r dd. 02.08.2006.
The results of the performed large-scale environmental actions showed that in 2007 the level of technogenic load on the environment didn’t exceed the designed potential of the ecosystems stability in the OAO TATNEFT activity territory.
This is evidenced by reduction in pollutants concentration in underground and surface water sources and absence of emergency spills and discharges of chemical compounds, oil and petroleum products, fuel, and waste water into the environment in the OAO TATNEFT activity territory.
