OAO TATNEFT Held Traditional Professional Skills Contest Print version

A regular annual competition of professional skills among the young workers of OAO TATNEFT was held in Almetyevsk (Republic of Tatarstan) on August 21.

By tradition, the competition of professional skills on the major working specialties in crude oil production took place at the range of NGDU Elkhovneft, a structural division of TATNEFT, where gathered the best young professionals, who had proved by labor and skills their right to represent their enterprises at the main professional training range of the Company.

This year the competition of professional skills has been timed to the 60th anniversary of the Company. R.N. Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Sh.F. Takhautdinov, General Director of TATNEFT Open Joint Stock Company, members of the Board of Directors of OAO TATNEFT, top managers of the Company, R.F. Abubakirov, Head of Almetyevsk municipal district, heads of structural divisions and subsidiaries and veterans of the oil industry attended the ceremonial event of honoring the best oilmen of 2009.

The best oilmen of 2009 were presented State awards of the Republic of Tatarstan and letters of thanks from Presidents of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan. The results of the review contest among the health improvement camps, sports games of TATNEFT and the contest among the corporate media were also summed up there.

The professional skills contest usually brings together the best young representatives of the enterprises TATNEFT Group of Companies. It is arranged among the crews engaged in oil production, remedial and workover operations and well drilling, as well as the crews for formation pressure maintenance, crude oil treatment, electrical repairmen, production control centers' electricians and electric welders, turners and drivers. In aggregate the participants were competing in 13 occupations.

Such professional competitions represent a good opportunity to share advanced practices, and they are an incentive to improve skills, enhance corporate solidarity, develop a healthy competitive spirit between the Company's divisions. As a result of the competition the challenge cup and the honorable first place in the team competition was awarded to the team NGDU Elkhovneft, the 2nd place was awarded to the team of NGDU Almetyevneft, and the team of NGDU Jalilneft was ranked the third.

President of the Republic has praised the contest, saying that "it is the asset of the of the Company, which serves as for increasing competitiveness, personnel motivation for achieving better results, and also promotes the unification of the Company staff".

Information reference. The tradition of an annual professional skills competition started four decades ago. The first competition was held in 1970 at NGDU Almetyevneft among crude oil production, remedial well servicing and workover shops, and it was timed to the 100th anniversary of V.I. Lenin birth. Since 1975, the competitions for individual oil specialties have begun to take place between oil and gas production boards. In 1986 the first contest was arranged at the scale of the whole TATNEFT Production Amalgamation.
