Tires of OAO Nizhnekamskshina, which is part of OAO TATNEFT's petrochemical branch, will be delivered to foreign enterprises of the German Volkswagen Company in India.

This spring, the KAMA Trading House, General Distributor of the KAMA and KAMA-EURO tire brands, has made the first delivery of KAMA-EURO 129 tires for the assembly of a new Volkswagen Polo Sedan model, which is manufactured at a Russian plant of Volkswagen Company in Kaluga.

Having proved itself as a reliable and high quality supplier of tires in Russia, the Trading House had continued negotiations for the supply of tires for original assembly, but already for foreign enterprises of the German Volkswagen Company. The negotiations had proved to be successful and late in July tires were shipped to India for testing. The first batch of KAMA-EURO 236 tires was delivered to India by air within the shortest time.

The new plant of the German Company in India, which was opened in March 2009, will now also assemble new Volkswagen Polo Sedan cars with tires of Nizhnekamsk production.

This tire model, as well as the whole line of the KAMA-EURO brand, has several advantages. Tubeless radial tire is ideal for all-season use. Four longitudinal grooves in the center of the tread and overrange of the tire pattern onto the sidewall of the tire reduce the risk of aquaplaning. The well calculated tread blocks location significantly reduces noise level, and the special elements ("bridges") in the transverse grooves of the tread decrease tractive resistance. Also the mass of the tire has been reduced, hence, accordingly, reduction of fuel consumption with increasing the tire resistance to deformation, and this is the best advantage demonstrated by the service life of the tires.

OAO TATNEFT, one of the largest crude oil producing and crude oil refining companies in Russia, has performed upgrading Nizhnekamsk production works buying the latest technology and up-to-date equipment for production and development of new tire models. As of today, by the results of 2009 the petrochemical complex of TATNEFT is the Russia's largest tire manufacturer and the only enterprise, which has demonstrated growth in various segments of the market by the results of the crisis year.
