TATNEFT is one of the largest, internationally recognized Russian oil companies, operating as a vertically integrated Group. The Company ranks No 6 in Russia by the volume of oil production after Rosneft, Lukoil, Surgutneftegaz, TNK-BP and Gazprom neft.
In the competitive refining market the Company develops its own facilities, at the same time expanding the export of oil, gas and petrochemical products.
The Group includes:
— oil and gas production entities;
— oil and gas refining entities OAO TANECO, Neftegaspererabotka Administration);
— petrochemical production facilities;
— enterprises for selling crude oil and gas, as well as oil, gas, and petrochemical products;
— intracorporate stream of service structures.
Though the Company mainly operates in the Russian Federation, it implements the strategy of an efficient reserves increase and expansion of the territory of its activities not only outside the Republic of Tatarstan, but out of the Russian Federation as well. Spin-off of the Company's interests was the reason for opening the offices in the Asian, Middle Eastern, African and near-abroad countries.
The Company provides for the stable replenishment of its reserves. According to Miller & Lents, international consulting company, the volume of proved developed, undeveloped and undrilled oil reserves of OAO TATNEFT amounted to 862.2 million tons as of January 01, 2010.
Annually, the Company increases the volume of oil production. TATNEFT owns most licenses for oil exploration and production in the territory of Tatarstan, and expands its resource base through deposits development in such Russian territories as Republic of Kalmikya, Orenburg, Samara, Ulyanovsk regions and Nenetsk Autonomous District.
The Company performs pilot operations for the development of extra viscous oil deposits.
Along with strengthening of the resource base and increase of production volumes, the Company priority tasks include the following:
- development of oil and gas refining facilities
- expansion of sales markets for oil, gas and petrochemical products,
- expansion of the filling stations network under the corporate brand.
It's worth noting that industrial activity of the Company meets high standards of environmental and industrial safety.
OAO TATNEFT Company pursues the socially oriented policy, and makes an appreciable contribution to the development of national health-care, educational, sports programs and the programs aimed to support small-scale and mid-scale business.
In the framework of the development strategy the Company implements the process of restructuring aimed at increasing the production management efficiency, provision of costs transparency, optimization of labor, material and financial resources.
